Puzzle #644 - Two Good (Akari)

I don't have a witty comment for this Akari puzzle. The reason I made it was I linked a friend pzprrt, messed around and made a bashy puzzle afterwards, and felt bad and wanted to make a legit puzzle. So I made this one, which I like quite a bit.

I then made something even worse than the other bashy puzzle. Look at it. Just look at it.

Puzzles #574 & #575 - Tilted Squares (Akari, Choco Banana)

The djmathman was streaming one or two weekends ago, and people were jokingly making meme tilted square puzzles. I contributed one of those but then decided no, I'm going to make something legitimate. So I made an Akari (always a flexible choice) and a Choco Banana (one of dj's favorite genres) that I'd somehow never made one of before? It's a fun genre but man is it hard to get started with this theme.

Puzzle #573 - People Do Read These? (Akari)

I recently caught up on logic race in Puzzlers Club, after falling very far behind. In one of my comments I wondered if anyone was actually checking 2 months of backlog and said that the first person to send me a screenshot of a comment would get a puzzle. ft029 was very prompt on this and I didn't have a puzzle planned, and they thought that it was pre-made, so... asked for an Akari. So I made an FT Akari.

Puzzle #490 - Baba is Akari

KF requested a Baba Akari. This I could do very easily. I added some extra walls to part of the puzzle to extend the logic a bit farther, as large open spaces can only do so much without being interrupted in Akari. It's Baba, what more do you want?

edit: link added, because I missed that until Menderbug pointed it out

Puzzle #389 - One Away (Akari)

Akari is always a fun type to make and solve- there's a lot of room for expression and varied deductions, and even the easy ones have a very satisfying sense of flow. This is probably a 3 star puzzle, roughly, and I'm very pleased with the logic I managed to include with this visual theme.

I aimed for something Nikoli-style with this and I'm not totally sure I succeeded there. Should be a great puzzle regardless of whether or not I hit that goal.

Puzzle #355 - Hexagony Akari

I only have one Akari puzzle to post today, as I re-used the example from Puzzle Zodiac for use in Hexagony. I'm very happy with how this one turned out, I think it uses the hexagonal grid very well. All of the puzzle types selected for Hexagony were picked for their rules being able to immediately translate to other grid shapes, and also solving somewhat differently. Most of the hexagonal grids were constructed first as they would be the harder ones to get working satisfactorily, so I was quite surprised when my initial spiral idea just worked. Akari was placed as the second type on the contest as I felt having the difficulty across both puzzles of a type ramp up throughout the contest, except the thematic first and last choices.

Puzzles #225, #226 & #227 - Leo (Akari)

Fun fact about the Puzzle Zodiac: my original thought for Leo was Nurimisaki, not Akari, playing on cats hiding in corners instead of chasing lights. Both contest puzzles here are 10x10, the only time in the contest that both puzzles of the same genre are the same size. Even still, the second one is probably a good bit harder?
The fun thing about making example puzzles is that I didn't have to worry as much about an interesting solve path as much as demonstrating the key points of the type. I enjoyed trying to add in an aesthetic flair for these.
Puzzle 9 on the test, worth 20 points, and themed on the Leo sign. As usual for the zodiac themes, I placed down the blocks first and then tried to clue it in an interesting and non-trivial way.
Puzzle 10 on the test, worth 30 points, and no real theme beyond the L shaped blocks. I had a lot of trouble trying to come up with a good theme for this puzzle, and an even harder time trying to make it non-trivial. It's really easy for an Akari clue to break all the logic up to that point...

Puzzle #149 - Special (Akari)

Puzzleduel recently ran a contest on a series of larger than normal puzzles. Before it was announced I had created and submitted this Akari for use as a daily puzzle. I didn't think 17x17 was too large for a normal day, but apparently it was. The best solve time was 4:31, though in puzz.link I would expect skilled solvers to come in under 2:30 easily.
This puzzle was inspired by some things I saw while going through every Akari on puzz.link, a task I have since completed. If everything goes according to plan, puzzle 150 will be a big one...

Puzzle #111 - Shining Light (Akari)

While working my way through the puzz.link database I came across a very, very large Akari puzzle. This puzzle was inspired by a deduction from that puzzle that would have worked, had one number been one larger.

Update: fixed an ambiguity from the original version of the puzzle.

Puzzle #39 - Whirlpool (Akari)

I believe that this Akari is the largest puzzle I've posted yet, at 15x15. Though, because it's an Akari, it solves much quicker and easier than puzzle 25 did :P

Puzzle #38 - Xcuse Me (Akari)

This is a 4 region Akari puzzle. Pretty easy.
Hey did you know that Akari can have numbers that aren't 1 or 2? You can even place 0 and 4s!

Puzzle #37 - Shuriken (Akari)

Akari puzzles typically have all of the white cells connected, but this isn't a requirement. Honestly, having separate interacting rooms can be really interesting and is a theme I'm happy to see explored.
So it turns out my Akari style has a lot of 1s and 2s.

Puzzle #36 - Barred (Akari)

Looks like I forgot to queue my Akari puzzles yesterday. So because of that, you get a puzzle now and another one in a few hours!

Puzzles #8, #9 and #10 - Adaptations (LITS, Akari, Cave)

All three of the puzzles in this post are on the smaller side, and were constructed for inclusion in the same Chip's Challenge 2 level as the 125436 Nurikabe a few posts ago.
First up is a LITS puzzle. The start is fairly obvious, but there's a step following that takes a bit of thinking.

Next up is the first object placement puzzle on the blog, an Akari. The type usually isn't too difficult without leaning on one of a few deductions, which will hopefully be showcased later.

Corral (or Cave, or Bag) is a genre that no one can seem to agree on the name or style of. I prefer to think of it as a shading puzzle, though some would treat it as a loop drawing puzzle. In any case, this is probably the trickiest of the batch here though entirely because the rules are trickier to grasp.

Update: the Akari lost a 0 somehow, as pointed out by bmcfluff. This has been corrected.
